He assured the American people that the strikes \u201cwere a spectacular military success\u201d and that \u201cIran\u2019s key nuclear enrichment facilities have been completely and totally obliterated.\u201d \u201cIran,\u201d he said, \u201cmust now make peace.\u201d

Today administration officials began to walk back Trump\u2019s boast. The Wall Street Journal<\/em> reported that Chairman of the Joint Chiefs of Staff General Dan Caine said it was \u201cway too early\u201d to assess the amount of damage. International Atomic Energy Agency chief Rafael Grossi said that \u201cno one, no one, neither us, nobody else, could be able to tell you how much it has been damaged.\u201d<\/p>\nTonight David E. Sanger of the New York Times<\/em> reported that there is evidence to suggest that Iran had moved both uranium and equipment from the Fordo site before the strikes.
