If agents thought they had reason to stop Good, or even arrest her, they had plenty of options. They could have gotten her car tag. I went to the Academy, had required annual retraining, was in instructor, and received a lot of extra training in use of force. I retired as a Sergeant and a supervisor.<br \/>\n&#8230;<\/p>\n<p>Every agency I have trained with is taught not to fire into a moving vehicle. It creates many new hazards. <\/p>\n<p>An officer can use lethal force when they believe their life is in danger. A driver backing up and then turning their vehicle away from officers does not qualify.<br \/>\nI am not aware of ICE having any actual jurisdiction to detain this woman in the first place. All accounts say she was a US Citizen. Even if she had not been, it would not justify their behavior. <\/p>\n<p>There is no way it is legal or within acceptable bounds for an officer to leave the scene of a shooting. By a 4-1 vote, the conservative justices held that the law violates the constitutional right to make health care decisions. And they did it in the <em>funniest way possible<\/em>.<\/p>\n<p>The ruling has its genesis in a bit of performative Republican theater back in 2012 when Republicans were fear mongering about the recently enacted Affordable Care Act.<\/p>\n<p><a href=\"https:\/\/www.kff.org\/from-drew-altman\/what-death-panels-can-teach-us-about-health-misinformation\/\" target=\"_blank\">Death panels<\/a> for everyone!<\/p>\n<p>Enter State Sen. Leslie Nutting (R-Cheyenne), with a <a href=\"https:\/\/k2radio.com\/wyoming-voters-face-3-amendments-next-week\/\" target=\"_blank\">proposal<\/a> to amend the state\u2019s constitution to ensure that Obama couldn\u2019t come for granny. She called to add language to preserving the right of each \u201ccompetent adult\u201d in the state of Wyoming \u201cto make his or her own health care decisions\u201d and protecting those rights \u201cfrom undue governmental infringement.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>The amended language, known as <a href=\"https:\/\/sos.wyo.gov\/Forms\/Publications\/WYConstitution.pdf\" target=\"_blank\">Section 38<\/a>, passed by a <a href=\"https:\/\/en.wikipedia.org\/wiki\/2012_Wyoming_Amendment_A\" target=\"_blank\">77-23 margin<\/a>.
