Outside of the two most recent recessions, 2025 saw the lowest pace of average monthly job growth since 2003.<\/p>\n
The U.S. economy added a seasonally adjusted 50,000 jobs in December, the Labor Department said Friday. That was a slight slowdown from November\u2019s 56,000 gain and undershot economists\u2019 expectations for a 73,000 increase.<\/p>\n
